Here it is easy to see with our own eyes how important it is to respect nature, to take care of it. We learn as children that water is a rare and precious commodity. That the land, the pastures, the woods are living realities, and we all depend on them. The quality of the food is a point of honour for those who produce it: bread, wine, sweets and cheese are still important gifts in all homes today. Solidarity is part of us: because a small community, on an island, needs a social network to continue to exist.
QUALITY FOR US IS MORE THAN A COMMITMENT
Each wheel and each package carry the name of our family, of our parents. Each of our products carries the name of Sardinia in the world. To guarantee quality, we learn from tradition, we study and adopt every innovation. This is not a contradiction: milk is a very delicate food. Producing cheeses, maturing them, storing them, transporting them and guaranteeing their healthiness and safety requires study, rigorous precision and logistics. We always choose the solution that guarantees the best quality. We invest in avant-garde systems, in transports and controls to offer you delicate and very fresh cheeses.

We choose clean energy
We have installed a photovoltaic system that provides a substantial part of the electricity we use. We are working to transform our thermal systems into cogeneration systems. They are systems that integrate motors and exchangers, like a real power plant, to produce electricity and heat together for heating and processing. Thus, they have a better yield with less consumptions and therefore less emissions. Our plants will be fuelled by methane, the cleanest fossil fuel available today.
Every drop of milk, every part of milk
Cheesemaking is the daughter of farming culture, in which nothing had to be lost. So, with us even the whey, the last transformation of milk that remains after the production of cheeses and ricotta, becomes a precious resource. Our whey goes to companies that extract proteins, nutrients and mineral salts from it to produce sport supplements and baby food.
Respect water, to respect the world
In Sardinia, water is so precious that our Nuragic ancestors dedicated wonderful places of worship to it. It is a way of feeling that it is still a part of us. We recover much of the water we use. We treat and check the waste water in an equalisation system, before committing it to the purifier.
Animal well-being: quality and safety start here
Quality and safety of milk directly depend on the health and welfare of the sheep that produce it. For this we assist the breeders from whom we source also with one of our vets, who constantly visits and checks the flocks. So, the breeders always have an extra check. And above all, a consultation on the best cares and farming practices that together guarantee animal health, a more sustainable milk production and a better quality.

Our company has supported the birth of ITS, the Higher Technical Institute, in Sassari, and constantly supports its activities. It is an advanced school for the agribusiness world that gives specialization classes for graduates, in collaboration with the Agrarian Institute of Sassari. It offers a concrete, high-level preparation for work in the dairy, wine and oil fields. Many of the students who have attended ITS then have got an internship in our company. Some of them are part of our team today. As always happens, their education has proved to be an investment for our entire territory.
A FOUNDATION TO OPEN THE DOORS TO THE WORLD
In 1998, Serafino Pinna with his wife Pina wanted to do something for the future of the young people of our land. They created the Scholarship Foundation that bears their name. Each year it awards a scholarship to the most deserving graduate of the Higher Institute of Thiesi, so that he/she can study in some of the most prestigious Italian universities. It has been a personal initiative of Serafino and Pina, closely intertwined with the history and business of our family and our company. For some years Serafino has been gone, and his son Giommaria has taken his place in this project. Among the students who have benefited from the scholarship, some of them work with us, others hold prestigious positions in Italy and in Europe.

QUALITY AND RESPECT ARE CERTIFIED
We always want to certify our commitment for the quality of the products, for safety in the workplace, and respect for the environment. The certifications we have obtained are a guarantee for all those who choose us or who work with us.
UNI EN ISO 9001. It is the certification of the Company Management System.
We have been certified since 1998, among the first in Sardinia, these rules are by now part of the daily management of the company.
UNI EN ISO 14001. It is the rule that certifies the Environmental Management System.
Applied since 2004, it pays particular attention to the management of water and energy, emissions, wastewater quality and all aspects concerning the effects of our work on the environment.
UNI EN ISO 22005. It is the rule on the traceability of the food supply chain.
We have been applying it since 2017. It involves the entire production process, starting from the farms: a part of the checks already takes place at the companies that supply the milk.
UNI EN ISO 45001. It is the certification for the Occupational Safety Management System.
We achieved it in 2018, thanks to the collaboration of all the people who work with us, with a deep modernization of the procedures for the protection of health and safety in the workplace.
BRC and IFS.
They are private certification schemes, born from the Large-Scale Distribution with rules that Suppliers must respect. They are very similar to the Food Safety guarantee requirements. We got the certification in 2014.

THREE CONSORTIA, TO PROTECT QUALITY
We produce cheeses that are an important part of the culture and traditions of our land. This is why we are actively part of the consortia for the protection of those who have obtained the Protected Designation of Origin: Pecorino Romano, Pecorino Sardo and Fiore Sardo.
The Consortium for the Protection of Pecorino Romano Cheese brings together producers from Sardinia, Lazio and the Province of Grosseto. The consortium was born in 1979 and it has been in charge of protecting the PDO since 2002.
The Consortium for the Protection of Pecorino Sardo PDO Cheese protects the two variants of Pecorino Sardo, the Pecorino Sardo Dolce and the Pecorino Sardo Maturo, which obtained the PDO recognition in 1996.
The Consortium for the protection of Fiore Sardo PDO cheese has been protecting the PDO since 1999.
Each consortium checks and guarantees the origin and the production methods, and guarantees the quality of the products with its brand.
